In the Under 14's Cup, we play the winners of Neath and Maesteg, at home.

MIDWEEK TEAM STILL UNBEATEN
The Midweek team hammered a depleted Drefach side to keep their hopes alive of winning the League. The rearranged game against Pontyberem is scheduled to be played on Sunday. This is followed next Wednesday with the final game of the season against Gowerton, in what could be a championship decider.

THIRDS IN SEMI FINAL
By beating Ynystawe on Sunday, our Third XI move into the Semi-final stage of the WWCA K.O. Cup.
Batting first, we scored 138, which wasn't a bad total on a tricky wicket. Jon Taube top scored with 27, followed by Nathan Richards with 19. Gareth and Denver Gearge, Rohan Nangalia and Steve Lloyd all got into double figures to ensure the bowlers has something to defend.
The bowlers did not only defended, but soon made inroads into the Ynystawe batting. Lyn Howells with 1 for 5 in 8 overs immediately put the brakes on, allowing the rest to all chip in with impressive figures - Owen Morgan (3 for 5), Alun Evans (3 for 12), Rohan Nangalia (2 for 17) and Alun Thomas (1 for 12.
Good to see the Llan Barmy Army there in support.
We play Swansea in the semi-final at home, on Sunday 3rd August

MIXED FORTUNES
The recent wet weather relented to allow our three teams to play on Saturday.
Thanks to mopping up by Mike (again) and late preparation by Eric, the First XI played Swansea in the Park. The Swansea score of 203 all out was mainly achieved by Rhodri Lloyd scoring a century. Our bowlers did well to bowl the opposition out, especially as Huw Williams had to pull out at mid day with a stomach bug. However this give Stuart Goddard the opportunity to bowl more overs than he has of late and he excelled taking 5 for 51 in 15 overs. Other main wicket taker was Atif, who took 3 for 34 in his 15 overs, including that of prize scalp, Darren Thomas.
In reply we were soon with our backs to the wall when three wickets fell for just 20 runs. However, Captain Dependable, Darrel Griffiths, along with man in form Stuart Davies, put on a half century partnership to allow us to earn a draw. Darrel ended up on 60 not out and Stuart was out when on 35.
Hard earned points, which will have a significance when the role call is made at the end of the season.

The Seconds good run ended at St Helens, when they lost to Swansea Seconds by 50 runs. The bowlers did their job, bowling out the home side for just 132. Ryan Willey took 6 for 27 and Qwen Morgan 3 for 19.
Despite a promising start by openers Nathan Jones (23) and Nathan Richards (11) we started to lose wickets quickly. Stand-in captain Simon Donoughe scored 18 and 10 runs each from Owen Morgan and Matthew Curwood was a hopeful attempt to turn the tide, but our innings ended on 82 all out. A disappointing result, but when you consider that there were three late changes, the match was always going to be difficult.

Meanwhile, the Third XI scored an excellent victory over close rivals Neath. The knock-on effect of players pulling out of the other two senior sides, gave the opportunty to three players to make their first appearance of the season.Rhian promoted Alun Thoams to open the innings and he did an excellent job, achieving his highest career score of 61. The experience of Denver George(52) and Steve Lloyd (45) enabled the innings to close on 215 for 7.
The Neath reply started steadily and at the drinks break they needed 125 with 8 wickets in hand. Lyn Howells bowled economicaly taking 1 for 14 in just 9 overs, while Greg Powles, playing his first game of the season, took 1 for 29. However it was under 14's player Scott Philips, making his debut for the Thirds, who made the breakthrough. He took 6 for 24 in 7.4 overs - all clean bowled. The Neath innings ended on 146. It was a good performance all round with sharp fielding, including another diving catch by Denver George fielding in his customary point position.
