GOOD WIN FOR MIDWEEK XI

The Midweek team beat Gorsinon by 28 runs. Batting first we scored 98 for 8. Shaun Thomas top scored with 35. In reply Gorseinon were bowled out for 70. Rohan Nangalia took 4 for 10 and Rhodri Lewis 2 for 4. Well done boys.

THIRDS SHOW THE WAY
With the First and Second XI's losing to their Dafen counterparts, the Third XI produced the first win of the season for our senior sides with an excellent win over Ammanford. Batting first we scored 160 (Gareth Evanx 61, Berian Rees 17, Toby Osborne 16 no, Owain Phillips 13,Prem Kumar 12). In reply, Ammanford were bowled out for 45 in 17.3 overs. (Owain Phillips taking 5 for 25, Berian Rees 2 for 16 and Toby Osborne 1 for 3).
In the Park, the First XI bowlers did well to contain Dafen to 154 all out. Atif had excellent figures, taking 5 for 37 in 15 overs. Rhodri Lewis and Gethin Long each took two wickets and Stuart Goddard, one.Although he didn't take a wicket, Simon Clement bowled economicslly with just 18 coming off his 10 overs. In reply only Stuart Davies got double figures (13 not out) Six wickets from Matthew Evans and four with Steve Devonald were too good for our batters and we ended the inning 47 all out.
The Seconds must have thought that a win was on the cards after dismissing Dafen for 86 in 35 overs. Nathan Lewis took 6 for 26, Rohan Nangalia 3 for 25 and Andrew Lewis 1 for 14.
After losing Richard Clement in the first over, matters just got worse. In all four batsmen failed to score. Thanks to Steve Lloyd (27) and Nathan Richards (14) we managed to score 63 before losing the final wicket with the score on 63.

MORISTON CONCEDE
Our Third XI progressed into the Second Round of the WWCA Rowberry K.O. Cup, when Morriston conceded the game because they were unable to field a side. (They were probably all at the Liberty Stadium dressed a Elvis).
In the Second Round we have drawn against Mumbles (away) on 24th June.

CUP DRAW
We have a home draw against AMMANFORD in the First Round of the Thomas Carroll K.O. Cup. The match will be played on Sunday 3rd June.
In the Gwalia Welsh Cup we meet Hills Plymouth, AWAY, on the 20th May.

CAPTAINS CONFIRMED
All nominated captains for next season were approved unanimously at the A.G.M.
1st XI Captain - Lee Davies
2nd XI Captain - Richard Clement
3rd XI Captain - Gareth Evans
Midweek Captain - Rohan Nangalia

It's worthwhile noting that all four players have progressed through our junior ranks and it emphasises the importance of our continued support for the Club's junior set-up.We are always looking for people to help out, whether it's senior players, friends, family or anybody else who can spend a bit of time coaching, scoring, umpiring or giving lifts on match days. All contributions would be appreciated.

WISH LIST
One of the the top items on the "Wish List" is a new building down at the Park to house a new electronic scoreboard and Meeting Room. The scoreboard is required to replace the existing facility, which, due to it's difficult accessibility, is deemed to be unsafe. The additional room would give us the opportunity to have our own base or "home". Since being forced out of the Rugby (and Cricket) Club, we have nowhere to display all the memorabilia - photos, trophies, Honours Boards etc that have been collected over the Club's 130 year history. After matches we could use the facility as a hospitality room for the players and supporters of the home matches. Not only would this bring us on par with almost every other Club in the Association, it would bring in a source of revenue for the Club.
Don't just sit back and think that this can be sorted by the Committee. We want ALL members to be involved and every bit of help would be appreciated.
